Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Hershey Bears holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 35 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Hershey Bears's written reviews are positive against 46% of Texas Stars's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Hershey Bears ships an update every 4 months, Texas Stars every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
