Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: watson News at 2.0 against Winterthur's 1.0. watson News also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Winterthur's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
