TMote receives NDI® streams and sends back TUIO events via OSC in response to touches. In this way, it allows you to create applications that can be remote controlled (via wifi) without having to implement a separate GUI for your iPhone or iPad. An implementation exists for Touchdesigner (by derivative) and can be downloaded here https://forum.derivative.ca/t/remote-controlling-touchdesigner-from-ios-devices/239406/39 Additionally, an Open Source example server for MacOS can be found here: https://github.com/mji1983/TMoteSampleServer/

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: TMote at Free against GyrOSC's $0.99. GyrOSC's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

TMote is free to download; GyrOSC costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for GyrOSC against 5.0 for TMote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GyrOSC has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
