Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Physics Formulas at 5.0 against Math Formulas's 4.1. Physics Formulas also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). Math Formulas's advantage is monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Math Formulas costs $0.99 and Physics Formulas $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Physics Formulas holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Formulas has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Math Formulas's written reviews are positive against 50% of Physics Formulas's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Math Formulas ships an update monthly, Physics Formulas every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
