Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MapLoud at 5.0 against Date Calculator's 4.5. MapLoud also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Date Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (200 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Date Calculator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and MapLoud sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MapLoud holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Date Calculator has 200 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Date Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, MapLoud every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
