Math by Anna: Grades 1–12 gives students focused, grade-level math practice from elementary arithmetic through high school topics. Explore 50 units in each grade, with new units continuing directly after the original learning units. Choose a grade and skill, then practice with instant feedback and clear explanations. Sessions contain up to 30 questions. Some focused topics have shorter sessions to avoid repeating the same question within a fresh round. Question selection considers recently seen questions; older questions may return as a topic's available question pool is reused. New units include worked examples, practice, and challenge activities. Unfinished sessions are saved on the device so students can return where they left off. Navigation tabs stay out of the way during lessons, practice, and exams. Each grade also includes a 60-question exam scored out of 100. Students can take exams multiple times and view prior scores. Practice areas include: • Number sense and arithmetic • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division • Fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and measurement • Geometry, statistics, expressions, equations, algebra, and advanced grade-level topics Students can track completed questions, accuracy, skill progress, exam results, and learning streaks. Progress stays on the device. Designed with families in mind: • No advertising • No tracking or third-party analytics • No chat or public profiles • Parent area and app-sharing shortcut protected by a grown-up check • One free unit in every grade • Optional Math by Anna Premium unlocks the remaining units Math by Anna is designed for independent practice and skill reinforcement. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Math by Anna at every 2 days against GED's every 7 months. Math by Anna also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 79%). GED's advantage is ratings volume (677 vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GED sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Math by Anna sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Math by Anna holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GED has 677 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of GED's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math by Anna's.
GED ships an update every 7 months, Math by Anna every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
