Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DevOps.com at none against Science Now's 3. DevOps.com also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Science Now's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (140 vs 20). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Science Now sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. DevOps.com asks for nothing beyond the download.
DevOps.com holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Science Now has 140 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Science Now ships an update every 3 months, DevOps.com every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
