Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Tree Hugger NYC at 5.0 against Transit's 4.4. Tree Hugger NYC also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months). Transit's advantage is ratings volume (44 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
