Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Fing at 4.6 against Duo's 3.7. Fing also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (117K vs 7). Duo's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Fing holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fing has 117K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Fing's written reviews are positive against 80% of Duo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Fing ships an update every 4 weeks, Duo every 31 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
