Dice Roller simulates the throwing of one or two dice. Use it when your game's dice are missing or simply as an alternative to traditional dice. Dice Roller runs on Apple WatchOS 3 as well as iPhone and iPad. When running on Watch it does not need to be connected to iPhone. The dice roll when the main screen is tapped. The die or dice rotate and then stop, displaying a random result between 1 and 6 on the top face of each die. The app also optionally plays the sound of one or two dice rolling, as appropriate. The total of the dice is optionally spoken in the device's language, depending on the device's language setting. This feature is surprisingly useful. The Settings screen language (iPhone and iPad) is one of English, French, Spanish, German or Chinese, depending on the device's Language and Region. The total of the previous roll is displayed at the bottom left of the screen. The number of dice and the optional features - including background colour on iPhone or iPad - are selected on the info screen - swipe right to left on Watch. The default is two dice, sounds on for iPhone, iPad and Watch. The app uses the Watch's speaker. Compatible with iOS9.2+ including iOS14.5 and PadOS14.5, WatchOS 3+.

The clearest difference is price: Cell to Singularity at Free against DiceRoller's $0.99. Cell to Singularity also leads on review sentiment (82% vs 50%) and ratings volume (23K vs 1). DiceRoller's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 21) and ads (none vs shown). On device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Cell to Singularity is free to download; DiceRoller costs $0.99 up front. Cell to Singularity sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. DiceRoller asks for nothing beyond the download.
DiceRoller holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cell to Singularity has 23K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of DiceRoller's written reviews are positive against 82% of Cell to Singularity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
DiceRoller ships an update every 2 months, Cell to Singularity fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
