About

Lean Health Timer

I originally built this app for myself. I wanted a simple meditation tool that would also log everything into Apple Health. After that, I realized it would be useful to add a few common breathing presets like 4-7-8 or Box Breathing and have those sessions logged as well. That worked surprisingly well, and it got me thinking: I could replace my workout app Seven, too. I mainly used it as a timer and for the “streak” feature, which helped me stay consistent and do at least a short workout every day. So I added open interval workouts (custom work, rest, and repetition counts), plus practical presets like warm-ups before running or stretching afterward. I also built streak tracking directly into the app for meditation, workouts, and alcohol-free days. After seven successful days, you earn a “joker,” so you can take a rest day without breaking your streak. And yes, I keep saying “I added” even though I cannot code. I asked Claude Code to create all of this for me. I am happy about any feedback or feature ideas. Just keep in mind that this is a free hobby project. FOUR POWERFUL MODES Open Meditation Flexible two-phase meditation (1-120 minutes) with gentle gong sounds for start, transition, and end. Breathwork Six science-based breathing presets: • Box Breathing • Calming Breath • Coherent Breathing • Deep Calm • Relaxing Breath (4-7-8) • Rhythmic Breath (Savitri Pranayama) Each preset includes background info and recommended use cases. Create custom breathing rhythms with adjustable inhale, hold, and exhale durations, cycle counts, sound themes, and optional ambient background sounds. Workout Programs (NEW) Ten structured HIIT presets: • Tabata Classic • Core Circuit • Full Body Burn • Power Intervals • Upper Body Strength • Lower Body Power • Cardio Blast • Recovery Flow • Morning Energizer • Evening Wind-Down Build your own multi-phase workouts using a 60-exercise library (plus custom exercises), customized work and rest timings, optional exercise name announcements, countdown-before-start, and clear audio cues. Free Intervals A flexible interval timer for Tabata, boxing, or any timing-based routine. STREAKS AND HABITS Daily Streaks Track streaks for meditation, workouts, and alcohol-free days. See your continuous series and build long-term consistency. Activity Calendar Visualize meditation minutes, workout minutes, and NoAlc days. Set daily minute goals and watch your habits grow. Alcohol-free days can be logged directly and count toward your streak. Smart Reminders Notifications appear only when helpful (“No meditation in 12 hours”). They automatically cancel once you complete the activity. APPLE ECOSYSTEM INTEGRATION HealthKit All sessions are saved to Apple Health. No account and no cloud storage. Your data stays private. Dynamic Island and Live Activities View active sessions on the Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island. Shortcuts and Siri Start routines such as “Start Box Breathing” and build automation flows with meditation, breathwork, and workouts. SETTINGS HIGHLIGHTS • Daily goals for meditation and workouts • Optional background ambient sounds • Adjustable gong volume with test playback • Sound themes for breathing sessions • Optional exercise name announcements • Configurable countdown before workout start WHAT MAKES LEAN HEALTH TIMER UNIQUE • Structured HIIT programs plus custom workouts • Six proven breathing techniques plus custom presets • Streaks as a clear motivational driver • Smart, non-intrusive reminders • Built-in alcohol-free tracking • Private by design: offline and HealthKit-only • Minimal and distraction-free design
