Weather-Based Tire Recommendations The app now uses Apple WeatherKit to fetch a three-day daily forecast for your current location. It calculates the average high and the average low temperature across those three days, then compares them against two thresholds to determine whether your current tires are appropriate. If the average high falls below the winter threshold — 7 °C by default — the app concludes that winter tires are the safer choice for the coming conditions. If the average low rises above the summer threshold — 10 °C by default — summer tires are recommended instead. All-season tires are always treated as a match regardless of the forecast. The outcome is displayed in three places simultaneously: a card in the tire section of each vehicle, a small indicator on the vehicle card on the main screen, and a dedicated row at the bottom of the medium home screen widget. Green means your current tires suit the forecast. Red means conditions are shifting and a tire change is worth arranging. Push Notifications for Tire Changes When a mismatch is detected between your mounted tires and the upcoming weather, the app schedules a push notification to arrive the following morning at 9:00 so alerts reach you at a reasonable hour. Any given vehicle will not trigger another tire notification for at least seven days to avoid repetition. A background refresh task runs automatically every 24 hours so the check happens without needing to open the app. Configurable Temperature Thresholds In Settings under Weather forecast, two new stepper controls let you set your own winter and summer thresholds. The winter threshold can be set anywhere between 0 °C and 15 °C, and the summer threshold between 5 °C and 20 °C. Both values are saved permanently. The footer below the controls updates live as you adjust them, so the active trigger conditions are always visible at a glance. Tire History Fix Mounting and immediately removing a tire set at the same odometer value — which can happen when tapping through the installation flow by mistake — used to create a phantom history record showing zero kilometres driven. These entries cluttered the tire history and caused incorrect lifetime mileage figures. The app now detects when an installation and removal share the same odometer reading and treats the whole operation as a no-op, discarding the entry and restoring the prior active installation. Existing phantom records are cleaned up automatically on the first launch after updating. Maintenance Notification Fix Scheduled maintenance reminders were silently cancelled on every app launch and never rescheduled correctly, so no maintenance notifications ever actually arrived on the device. The root cause was that all pending notifications were removed at startup before the scheduler ran, and the scheduler then skipped tasks it considered already handled. This is now fixed. Notifications are only removed when the corresponding task is completed or deleted, and the scheduler verifies that a reminder is not already queued before creating a new one. Test Notification A new button in Settings under Reminders lets you send a test notification five seconds after tapping. Switch to another app straight away to see it appear as a banner with sound. The button is only shown when notification permission has already been granted. Widget The medium home screen widget now includes a tire recommendation row below the next scheduled service. It shows the same green or red status as the main app and only appears when the advisor is enabled and a forecast is available. The widget refreshes roughly every 30 minutes. Minor UI Changes Tire status labels now read "Tires fit the weather conditions" consistently across the vehicle card, tire section, and widget. The two monthly summary cards previously shown above the fill-up list in the fuel tab have been removed as the same figures already appear on the main vehicle card.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Carnote at none against BalticMaps's 3. Carnote also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). BalticMaps's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
