Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hello Crayons at 81% against Draw with Crayon's 3%. Hello Crayons also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 123 months). Draw with Crayon's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (307 vs 58). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hello Crayons sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Draw with Crayon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Draw with Crayon holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Draw with Crayon has 307 ratings behind it against 58, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Hello Crayons's written reviews are positive against 3% of Draw with Crayon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Hello Crayons ships an update every 6 weeks, Draw with Crayon every 123 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 2, 2026 respectively.
