Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Paint Gallery at 95% against Paint's 18%. Paint Gallery also leads on rating (4.7 vs 2.4) and ratings volume (68 vs 12). Paint's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paint Gallery sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Paint sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Paint Gallery holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paint Gallery has 68 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of Paint Gallery's written reviews are positive against 18% of Paint's.
Paint Gallery ships an update every 2 months, Paint monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
