Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FLICKERfree Calculator at none against CameraKit's 3. FLICKERfree Calculator also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 66%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). CameraKit's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (321 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. CameraKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. FLICKERfree Calculator asks for nothing beyond the download.
CameraKit holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CameraKit has 321 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of FLICKERfree Calculator's written reviews are positive against 66% of CameraKit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
FLICKERfree Calculator ships an update monthly, CameraKit every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
