Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: TorahApp at 87% against Esh Mesilat Yesharim's 0%. TorahApp also leads on price (Free vs $2.99) and update cadence (weekly vs every 27 months). Esh Mesilat Yesharim's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

TorahApp is free to download; Esh Mesilat Yesharim costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Esh Mesilat Yesharim holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TorahApp has 131 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Esh Mesilat Yesharim's written reviews are positive against 87% of TorahApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Esh Mesilat Yesharim ships an update every 27 months, TorahApp weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
