Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Renascença at 100% against RTP Notícias's 52%. Renascença also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (121 vs 16). RTP Notícias's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Renascença holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. Written reviews point the same way: 52% of RTP Notícias's written reviews are positive against 100% of Renascença's.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
