Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Minesweeper at none against Minesweeper Go's 1. Minesweeper also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (75% vs 65%). Minesweeper Go's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 5). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Minesweeper Go sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Minesweeper asks for nothing beyond the download.
Minesweeper Go holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minesweeper Go has 2.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Minesweeper Go's written reviews are positive against 75% of Minesweeper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
