This colorful, educational vocabulary App for the iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch® has all 52 illustrated picture flash cards (plus audio of each card text) from the Let's Name Things Fun Deck® by Super Duper® Publications. Select the cards you want students to see, and have them name items to practice vocabulary, categorizing, and thinking skills. The prompts include statements like, “Let’s name… things that live in the ocean.” and “Let’s name… things you’d take on a trip.” This App is simple to use — each student looks at an illustration, and either reads the prompt or touches the screen to listen to the prompt. The student then gives a verbal response. After each answer, tap the green (correct) or red (incorrect) button to score the student’s verbal response. Move to the next card by sliding the card currently on the display screen to the side. To move to the next player, tap the bar at the top of the screen and select a name. You can also advance cards and players automatically by selecting the Auto-Advance option in the Settings menu. You can leave a game by selecting End from the menu. SOCIAL INFERENCING MADE SIMPLE We make social inferences every day. We use facial expressions, body language, surroundings, and context to work out how someone might be feeling, what they could be thinking, or what may have happened. For some children, teenagers, and adults, noticing these clues and putting them together can be challenging. Inference Pics Lite provides a simple, structured way for speech-language pathologists, teachers, parents, and caregivers to work on social understanding, expressive language, and reasoning skills in speech therapy, education, or at home. SEE WHAT INFERENCE PICS LITE CAN DO • Get learners explaining their thinking, not just giving an answer. • Save prep time with ready-made inference questions, answers, and hints. • Draw directly on photos to circle or highlight important clues. • Show or hide possible answers to adjust the level of support. • Target emotions, perspective-taking, expressive language, and social reasoning. • Practice interpreting facial expressions, body language, and context. • Work with photos of real-life situations, not cartoons. • Create user profiles and track results. • No subscription and no Wi-Fi needed. LOOK. THINK. EXPLAIN. Each inference picture in Inference Pics has two inference prompts/questions. The first question varies depending on the chosen inference activity. For example, in the Conversations activity the user is asked "What are they saying? while in the Seasons activity the inference prompt is "What time of year is it? The second question in each inference activity is always “How can you tell?”. This allows the user to practice verbal expression and giving explanations. It also prompts the child or adult to explain what clues they found to enable them to make an inference. TRY ALL 7 SOCIAL INFERENCING ACTIVITIES FEELINGS - Understand emotions from facial expressions, body language, and context. JOBS - Work out someone’s job from visual clues.
