Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: KHL at 4.8 against AHL's 2.5. KHL also leads on review sentiment (40% vs 15%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). AHL's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 23) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KHL sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. AHL asks for nothing beyond the download.
KHL holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KHL has 1.9K ratings behind it against 194, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of KHL's written reviews are positive against 15% of AHL's.
KHL ships an update every 5 weeks, AHL every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
