This App enables UK vets to calculate doses of an unlicensed quad anaesthetic combination to carry out early neutering in kittens. The anaesthetic combination has been used at the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital on thousands of kittens for many years. The user inputs the mass of the kitten (kg). The volume of each of the following agents is given in mls Sedator (medetomidine 1mg/ml) Anesketin (ketamine 100mg/ml) Buprenodale (buprenorphine 300μg/ml) Hypnovel (midazolam 10mg/2ml) For example, a 2kg kitten requires 0.1mls of each drug = total volume 0.4mls by intramuscular injection. Alternatively, if the user selects methadone (Comfortan 10mg/ml) as the preferred opiate, a 2kg kitten requires 0.08mls of each drug = total volume 0.32mls by intramuscular injection. The dosing regime is based on body surface area calculations. The decision, and therefore the responsibility, for prescribing any drug for an animal lies solely with the veterinary surgeon. Vetmemo is a training and clinical support app for veterinarians and veterinary students in small animal medicine. The app combines two complementary tools: a clinical pathology question bank and a differential diagnosis tool for dogs and cats. The training module is designed for veterinary students and qualified veterinarians preparing for exams, competitive entry tests, or certification assessments, such as the NAVLE or equivalent exams in other countries. It is also intended for veterinarians who want to review, update their knowledge, and strengthen their clinical pathology skills in everyday practice. Vetmemo includes regularly updated multiple-choice questions in hematology, biochemistry, urinalysis (soon), electrolytes and blood gases, and endocrinology. Each question is accompanied by a detailed explanation to help you understand the reasoning behind the correct answer and improve your diagnostic approach. All questions are written, checked, and reviewed by veterinarians. The content is based on standard veterinary reference textbooks and recent scientific publications. Vetmemo also provides quick access to differential diagnoses for more than 300 clinical signs and laboratory findings in dogs and cats. The app allows users to explore common and less common causes, access definitions, and combine several signs or laboratory abnormalities to obtain a more targeted differential diagnosis. New questions and differential diagnosis content are added regularly. Vetmemo is a learning and clinical support tool. It does not replace clinical reasoning, professional judgment, or consultation of specialized references. Subscription Information Some features require an auto-renewable subscription.
