Finally see how your child actually learns. TutorBuddi is an AI tutor built for parents as much as kids. It guides your child to the answer step by step instead of just handing it over, and shows you, in plain language, where they're strong and where they're stuck. What your child gets: • A patient 1-on-1 tutor for any subject: math, science, reading, writing, and more • Draw the problem right on the screen and Buddi reads their handwriting • Flashcards and quizzes made from their own notes or a photo of the textbook • Explanations that teach the how, not just the answer What you get: • Buddi Insights: a clear picture of your child's strengths, sticking points, and how they learn best • No ads, no third-party tracking, nothing sold. Kids sign in with a username you set, so no email or personal info is required from them. • Control. You create the account, add your child, and decide if and when to upgrade. Kids never see checkout. Purposeful screen time, not another distraction: time your child spends actually learning, and you can finally see it. Free to start: 5 tutoring sessions and 10 study sets every month, no credit card. Premium includes 50 sessions per child each month, unlimited flashcards and quizzes, and full Buddi Insights. Grades 3-12. Homeschool-friendly. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: TutorBuddi at 100% against Pre's 67%. TutorBuddi also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Pre's advantage is ratings volume (357 vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pre sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and TutorBuddi sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
TutorBuddi holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pre has 357 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Pre's written reviews are positive against 100% of TutorBuddi's.
Pre ships an update every 6 months, TutorBuddi fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
