Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Spelling at 5.0 against Spelling Notebook's 4.6. Spelling also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). Spelling Notebook's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
