A conservatory-grade relative pitch trainer that measures your ear's unique profile and dynamically builds lessons to eliminate your weak spots. POWERED BY EAR-IQ Ear-iQ measures every answer by how accurate it is, in musical terms. Interval distances, chord-tone geometry, scale degree differences, notes shared in the key, and per-note pitch and rhythm differences tell you much more about your ear than simple right or wrong scoring. YOUR EAR, IN DIMENSIONS YOU ALREADY USE HarmoniQ builds a picture of your ear in the categories musicians use. - Intervals: major, minor, perfect consonant, imperfect consonant, dissonant, simple, and compound. - Chords: core quality, 6ths & 7ths, extended, major, minor, dominant, major 7ths, altered, suspended, diminished, and augmented. - Scales: core major, core minor, diatonic modes, dominant, pentatonic & blues, symmetric, jazz & synthetic, and bebop. - Scale degrees: tonic chord, tendency tones, and chromatic. - Chord progressions: tonic, predominant, dominant, secondary dominants, modal mixture, triads, sevenths, and diminished. - Rhythmic dictation: note values, placement, syncopation, rests, tuplets, and meters. - Melodic dictation: pitch, scale degree, interval, contour, and rhythm. Each skill dimension is a strength or weakness you can visualize. SMART RECOMMENDATIONS Ear-iQ's recommendation engine tracks the pairs you confuse and draws them back onto the answer grid, weighted by how often you confuse them. As confusion pairs are practiced, they drift back out automatically. No configuration required. Every lesson is aimed at what you need most, and the difficulty rises when your performance says you're ready. MELODIC DICTATION Transcribe an infinite stream of melodies on an interactive staff, rather than relying on a catalog of preset exercises. The engine uses real cadences, harmonic functions, and voice-leading rules to create natural, resolving melodies of appropriate complexity in real keys, meters, and clefs. Every response considers pitch, scale degree, interval, contour, and rhythm separately. RHYTHMIC DICTATION Learn to hear and notate rhythmic movement precisely, developing the working memory to untangle everything from simple counting to dense tuplets, syncopation, and ties. INTERVALS Every interval from a perfect unison to a major thirteenth, ascending, descending, and harmonic. CHORDS Triads, sixths and sevenths, extended and altered chords. Your responses, including enharmonic spellings, are considered by how correct they are using chord-tone geometry. SCALES Major, minor, diatonic modes, pentatonic and blues, symmetric, jazz, and bebop scales. SCALE DEGREES Hear harmonic functions inside a key, diatonic and chromatic, in major and minor. CHORD PROGRESSIONS Identify chords by Roman numerals as a progression plays, with major and minor cadences, including secondary dominants and borrowed chords. Drawn from progressions heard in real music. REAL INSTRUMENTS Recordings of real instruments spanning seven octaves: piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, English horn, trumpet, French horn, and trombone, plus a pure sine tone. Lessons draw on more instruments as you climb, and every one is selectable for free in custom practice. FOR MUSIC STUDENTS, CASUAL LEARNERS, AND PROFESSIONALS Start with fundamental aural skills and let the engine automatically scale the challenge as your ear improves. HarmoniQ covers the full spectrum of ear training, progressing from introductory basics to the highly advanced material tested in college music placement and conservatory exams. Free lessons every day, no account required. Privacy Policy: https://harmoniqmusic.com/privacy.html Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
