Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: StudentLite at none against Calculator's shown. StudentLite also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (200 vs 6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. StudentLite sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Calculator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

StudentLite holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator has 200 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of StudentLite's written reviews are positive against 80% of Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

StudentLite ships an update every 3 months, Calculator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
