Discover the tree that rules your birth. The Celtic Tree Calendar gives a tree, and an ogham letter, to each of thirteen months of the year, every one with its own character, folklore and meaning. Find your sign, read its story, and turn through the whole year tree by tree. This is a complete, ground-up rebuild of the original app, pairing brand-new hand-painted botanical artwork with genuine ogham scholarship. FEATURES โข Today: your current tree, beautifully illustrated, with its ogham letter, dates and reading. โข The Celtic Tree Year: an interactive wheel you can spin through all thirteen signs, landing on any tree. โข Trees: a gallery of original botanical illustrations, a unique painting for every sign. โข Deep lore for each sign: meaning, mythology, folklore, traditional woodland uses, and the reading for those born in its time. โข Authentic ogham: each sign's word-ogham (its kenning), plus the medieval colour-ogham and bird-ogham. โข Home-screen widgets: see the tree of the day at a glance, in small and medium sizes. โข Share: send a beautiful card of any tree to friends. โข An optional daily reminder of the tree of the day. BEAUTIFUL, AND HONEST Every tree is a unique botanical illustration of its real species, from the papery silver birch to the mighty acorn-laden oak. And we tell the tradition straight: the tree calendar was devised by the poet Robert Graves in 1948, not by the ancient druids. But the trees, their ogham letters, and their folklore are genuine, and we cite our sources throughout. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads. No tracking. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases. Buy it once and keep it forever. Everything works offline. A companion to Wiccan Moon and Mansions of the Moon.
Roots Calendar

Roots Calendar reimagines how you experience time. Built on the Beth-Luis-Nion system, a 13-month calendar where every month has exactly 28 days and bears the name of a tree. Roots Calendar runs alongside your Gregorian life while offering a quieter, more seasonal rhythm beneath it. 13 MONTHS OF 28 DAYS Every month is identical in shape: always exactly 4 weeks, always starting on the same weekday. No more irregular months, no more counting days on your fingers. Beth (Birch) through Ruis (Elder), each with its own tree, its own keyword, its own character. YEAR DAY Between the last month and the first lies a single nameless day โ Year Day. A threshold. A pause. A moment outside the normal count. YOUR CALENDAR, YOUR EVENTS Add events to any day. Color-code them. They stay on your device โ nothing is sent anywhere. GOOGLE CALENDAR SYNC Optionally sync with your existing Google Calendar. Your Roots events appear alongside your regular appointments, mapped by Gregorian date. MOON PHASES See the current moon phase for any day, calculated locally with no external API. CELTIC FESTIVALS Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and the solar festivals appear automatically as read-only markers in your calendar. MULTIPLE VIEWS Month grid, week, 3-day, day, and schedule views. Switch instantly from the menu. PRIVACY FIRST All event data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. No account required. No data collection. OPEN SOURCE Roots Calendar is open source (GPL-3.0). The full source is available on GitHub. โ The Beth-Luis-Nion calendar is a 20th-century poetic and spiritual tradition, drawing on genuine Celtic materials โ the Ogham alphabet, medieval Irish tree-lore, and the lunisolar Coligny Calendar. It was articulated in its modern form by Robert Graves in The White Goddess (1948). It is not a recovered ancient Druidic system, but a living practice with its own rich lineage.
