Verdict
The clearest difference is price: UWorld College Prep at Free against Data Collection's $0.99. UWorld College Prep also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.1) and ratings volume (77 vs 10). Data Collection's advantage is review sentiment (61% vs 50%). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

UWorld College Prep is free to download; Data Collection costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
UWorld College Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UWorld College Prep has 77 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Data Collection's written reviews are positive against 50% of UWorld College Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Data Collection ships an update every 2 months, UWorld College Prep every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
