With Fonemo you can practice for instance the sound s in many ways. To make the training of speech sounds fun, Fonemo works as a game. Saying words out loud is part of the game. You can record the childs pronunciation and together you can listen to it. If you have played the game memory you can play Fonemo. Pair cards with images that are alike. In Fonemo all the images contain words with the current speech sound. Whenever you wonder how a word is pronounced the teddy bear can help you. Poke the teddy in the belly and teddy will tell you what’s on the card. Then you can press the microphone that you will find on the game board, repeat the word and listen to it. The recorded sound will play automatically, but you can also press the speaker if you want to listen to it again. Fonemo is easy to learn. The child does not have to be literate since the game is based on images. The cards contain words with the current speech sound in the beginning, the middle or in the end. You can also practice the speech sound adjacent to a vowel, a consonant or mulitple consonants. Do you want to see something funny? Poke the teddy in the belly before you turn the first card! How to play Fonemo Turn a card by poking it. Turn a second card. If the two cards look the same, it's a pair. And you have won it! If you play as a single player, pair all cards on the board. If you are two players keep pairing cards until there is a mismatch. Then the turn goes to the other player. A green light will help you keep track on who’s turn it is. When you have matched two cards and got a pair, it is the same players turn again, the green light will then flash to remind you. Bornholmsbyn är den tredje applikationen, som bygger på den välkända Bornholmsmodellens struktur. Bornholmsbyn passar lika bra för de yngsta barnen i förskolan, som de äldre i förskoleklassen/skolan, som hemma. Den passar även för barn och äldre med annat modersmål än svenska. Det går att trycka på varje bokstav för att lyssna på de svenska språkljuden. Även bilderna går att trycka på för att höra vad de föreställer. Oavsett modersmål kan det vara en hjälp för att öka ordförrådet. Bornholmsbyn ska ses som ett komplement till andra språk- och läsaktiviteter. Den kan användas tillsammans med en läskunnig person, som finns med för att vägleda och visa på de viktiga delarna, som får barnen att förstå sambandet mellan bokstäver och språkljud. Man kan välja mellan versaler och gemener vid varje spelomgång. I Bornholmsbyn finns det inte några namnlistor som kan identifiera den enskilde individen. Det finns inte heller några poänglistor, tidsbegränsningar, eller köp inuti appen (in-app purchase). I appen går ljudet att reglera både när det gäller röst, effekt och musik. I Bornholmsbyn finns det fyra olika typer av hus att gå in i. Lyssnahuset Det första är Lyssnahuset med sina två rum. I båda rummen gäller det att vara uppmärksam och koncentrerad för att koppla ihop ljudet, som presenteras, med rätt föremål i respektive rum. Rimhuset I Rimhuset blir spelaren presenterad för fyra tavlor. På två av tavlorna finns bilder som passar innehållsmässigt ihop och två som rimmar t.ex. bil, mössa, hatt, ratt. Här fordras det att spelaren klarar av att skifta fokus mellan språkets innehåll till språkets form. Bokstavshuset Bokstavshuset är det största huset. Det innehåller 6 olika miljöer s.k. världar. På ett inspirerande sätt övas det mest grundläggande i läsningen; sambandet mellan bokstav och ljud. Detta är en förutsättning för att förstå hur man ljudar ihop ett ord och hur läsningen går till. Varje värld omfattar en grupp om fyra bokstäver. Bokstavsgruppen omfattar två konsonanter och två vokaler. Vokalerna är alla s.k. ”långa” (låter som i alfabetet). En bokstav i taget presenteras. Uppgiften är att hitta alla föremål som börjar på den aktuella bokstaven/ljudet. Det går att klicka på bokstäverna för att höra hur de låter. Alla bokstäverna i alfabetet förutom c, q, w, x och z, finns representerade i Bokstavshuset. Läshuset Läshuset är det sista huset i Bornholmsbyn. Alla orden är ljudenligt stavade, från korta enstaviga ord till längre med flera stavelser för att passa nybörjarläsaren. Här kombineras läsningen med rimförmågan.
