Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Bible at 4.9 against ReadCloud's 1.0. Bible also leads on ratings volume (142 vs 2). ReadCloud's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. ReadCloud asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Bible holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible has 142 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of ReadCloud's written reviews are positive against 0% of Bible's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

ReadCloud ships an update every 3 months, Bible every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
