Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: El Universal + at 5.0 against Latinus's 4.5. El Universal + also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 53%). Latinus's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
El Universal + holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Latinus has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of El Universal +'s written reviews are positive against 53% of Latinus's.
El Universal + ships an update every 5 weeks, Latinus fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
