Verdict
Akhbarak and El both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of Akhbarak's written reviews are positive against 0% of El's. Akhbarak also leads on ratings volume (20 vs 2) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). El's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for Akhbarak against 4.0 for El. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Akhbarak has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Akhbarak's written reviews are positive against 0% of El's.
Akhbarak ships an update every 4 months, El every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
