Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Add Sub K at 100% against Kodable Basics's 55%. Add Sub K also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Kodable Basics's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 10 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Kodable Basics holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kodable Basics has 21K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Add Sub K's written reviews are positive against 55% of Kodable Basics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Add Sub K ships an update every 10 months, Kodable Basics every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
