Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Creative Cast at 71% against Epson iProjection's 20%. Creative Cast also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). Epson iProjection's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 2.5) and ratings volume (3.4K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Epson iProjection holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Epson iProjection has 3.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Epson iProjection's written reviews are positive against 71% of Creative Cast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Epson iProjection ships an update every 6 months, Creative Cast every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
