The OSRAM DMX Wi-Fi Controller app is an implementation of the DMX protocol using ArtNet II UDP unicast mode for the iOS. Up to 512 devices and 1 universe can be controlled at a time. This App is not compatible with the Lightify product. The user must first connect to the Wi-Fi network which the devices are connected to, this is done though the iPhone. 1. Application detects available IP addresses and the user chooses ports for the DMX/Ethernet converter into this app. This converter is something similar to an ENTTEC ODE device. 2. Individual channel levels can be set with sliders or entered the directly with the keypad. 3. The sliders can be live, in that the channel will respond instantly. They can also be set so that after changing a level the user must press a key to send the levels to all of the channels simultaneously. 4. All user settings are remembered by the app. 5. There is a Help/About screen in the app. 6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4Dza2d-QXU (search on "Osram dmx")

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Epson iProjection at 4.3 against OSRAM DMX Wi's 2.3. Epson iProjection also leads on ratings volume (3.4K vs 4). OSRAM DMX Wi's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 20%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Epson iProjection holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Epson iProjection has 3.4K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Epson iProjection's written reviews are positive against 43% of OSRAM DMX Wi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Epson iProjection ships an update every 6 months, OSRAM DMX Wi every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
