Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Epson iProjection at 4.3 against ViewSonic Projector's 2.7. Epson iProjection also leads on ratings volume (3.4K vs 12). ViewSonic Projector's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 20%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Epson iProjection holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Epson iProjection has 3.4K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Epson iProjection's written reviews are positive against 50% of ViewSonic Projector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Epson iProjection ships an update every 6 months, ViewSonic Projector every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
