Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: 当当云阅读 at none against 康熙字典's shown. 当当云阅读 also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 16 months) and ratings volume (985 vs 8). 康熙字典's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 74%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. 当当云阅读 sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and 康熙字典 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for 当当云阅读 against 4.8 for 康熙字典. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 当当云阅读 has 985 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 74% of 当当云阅读's written reviews are positive against 100% of 康熙字典's.
当当云阅读 ships an update every 2 weeks, 康熙字典 every 16 months. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
