Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: EXPANSION EXPLORER at 3.0 against THR Session's 2.6. THR Session's advantage is review sentiment (34% vs 20%) and ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
EXPANSION EXPLORER holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: THR Session has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of THR Session's written reviews are positive against 20% of EXPANSION EXPLORER's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
THR Session ships an update every 3 months, EXPANSION EXPLORER every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
