Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: الراي at none against Al Jadeed's 4. الراي also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 28%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.5). Al Jadeed's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 2.9) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Al Jadeed sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. الراي asks for nothing beyond the download.
Al Jadeed holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 81 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of الراي's written reviews are positive against 28% of Al Jadeed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
الراي ships an update every 2 months, Al Jadeed fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
