Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: UD Browser at 5.0 against Japanese's 4.0. UD Browser also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). Japanese's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

UD Browser holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Japanese has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Japanese's written reviews are positive against 50% of UD Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Japanese ships an update every 2 months, UD Browser every 5 days. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
