Your TV becomes the board. The phone in your hand becomes the controller. Connect a host iPhone to the TV and the shared table appears on the big screen, while each player's own cards and controls stay private in their hand. No console, no controllers to buy. ■ SET UP IN A MINUTE 1. The host connects over AirPlay or HDMI and opens a party. 2. Friends join from the nearby list, scan the QR code on the TV, or type the party code. 3. Pick a game and start. No internet required. Devices talk to each other directly, so it still works at a cabin with no signal. No accounts, no sign-in. ■ EIGHT GAMES · UP TO 8 PLAYERS · Slot Dash — 1–4 players · 10–15 min · Yacht Dice — 1–8 players · 20–30 min · Bell Rush — 2–8 players · 6–10 min · Yutnori — 2–8 players · 10–15 min · Zoo Stack — 1–8 players · 5–10 min · Lane Bowling — 1–8 players · 10–20 min · Thief Hunt — 3–8 players · 4–7 min · Land Marble — 2–4 players · 20–30 min Shake to roll, swing to throw, tilt to aim — with haptics in your hand. ■ GOOD FOR Family gatherings, holiday parties, a rented cabin with friends, a club trip. No board game box to pack, nobody stuck explaining the rules. ■ WHAT YOU NEED · Host — an iPhone running iOS 18 or later · A TV connection — an AirPlay-capable TV or Apple TV, or a USB-C / Lightning HDMI adapter · Players — an iPhone running iOS 18 or later (up to 8). Short on phones? Two players can share one. Bell Rush, Slot Dash and Thief Hunt need one phone each — the bell is a simultaneous race, every driver holds their own trigger, and hands are secret. This app requires a TV connection. It cannot be played on the host device alone.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: AirParty at 100% against CloseTheBox's 56%. AirParty also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 8 months). CloseTheBox's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
