Hands-On Math: Geoboard creates a virtual geoboard on your iPad and includes activities for a variety of math topics. The app purchase includes an instructor's guide with hands-on activities for elementary and middle school age students. This free iBook provides teachers with lots of activities and lesson ideas that are designed to be used with the app. A simple tap downloads the extensive teacher's guide and installs it in iBooks. The app simulates the use of a popular math manipulative used to teach basic geometry and other math concepts. It is perfect for elementary and middle school classrooms. Our Geoboard is one of the best ways to help students explore and discover geometry. Students draw line segments, rectangles or circles on a 5x5 pegboard. As they draw geometric feedback is reported on a note card helping students better understand length, perimeter, and area. Using Hands-On Math Geooard students can develop the following important mathematical concepts: Properties of Shapes Composing and Decomposing Plane Figures Measurement Naming Shapes and Parts of a Circle Symmetry Drawing and Analyzing Two-Dimensional Shapes Congruence and Similarity Naming and Recognizing Basic Shapes Length, Area, Perimeter, Circumference, Radius and Diameter Coordinate Geometry
one plus one automation
This app helps children automate addition and subtraction skills. It uses intelligent training methods based on memory principles to reinforce learned tasks and improve recall speed. Designed for children who already understand basic math concepts, it focuses on memorization for more complex calculations.
- Addition and subtraction up to 20
- Intelligent training based on memory
- Individual learning progress tracking
- Written and spoken task presentation
- Distraction-free learning environment
- Timed challenges for recall speed

A effective, intelligent app to train automatization of addition und subtraction tasks as a basis for further calculating. Some features of the training tool: * addition and subtraction up to 5, 10 or 20 * intelligent training based on how memory works * individual learning progress bar with user profiles (every task has to bee four times right solved) * written and spoken presentation of the tasks * distraction free learning (no adds, popups, in-app-purchases, ...) Before using this app the child should have understood what additon and subtraction means and how to solve tasks. The app does not function as a tool for understanding, only as a tool for automatization of previos understood tasks. The goal of this app is automatization / memorization of the basic addition and subtraction tasks. Automated math basic tasks are important to be able to solve more complex math tasks (e.g. written addition or subtraction) easier, because basic tasks can be retrieved from memory. The training is optimized for your brain. In an intelligent way tasks which are not safely learned will be trained more often and in an shorter time intervals to support momorization of these tasks. Learned tasks will be repeated in higher time intervals so that they will be saved in your long term memory. If you solved all tasks three times in sequence correcly, the last challenge will be to compute against time to test if the solutions can be retrieved fast from memory (and not by couning up).
