Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Alkompis at 5.0 against Nyheter24's 1.0. Alkompis also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Alkompis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alkompis has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Nyheter24 ships an update every 4 months, Alkompis every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
