Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Technics Audio Center at 4.1 against mconnect Player Lite's 3.5. Technics Audio Center also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). mconnect Player Lite's advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 29%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Technics Audio Center holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 42 and 178 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of mconnect Player Lite's written reviews are positive against 29% of Technics Audio Center's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
mconnect Player Lite ships an update every 3 weeks, Technics Audio Center every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
