Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: DocLib Vault at 5.0 against Owlfiles's 4.6. Owlfiles's advantage is ratings volume (7.2K vs 2) and device support (5 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Owlfiles sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and DocLib Vault sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
DocLib Vault holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Owlfiles has 7.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Owlfiles ships an update every 4 weeks, DocLib Vault every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
