Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: HP Roam at 4.3 against MagicInfo's 1.0. HP Roam also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (12 vs 1). MagicInfo's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 0%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

HP Roam holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HP Roam has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of MagicInfo's written reviews are positive against 0% of HP Roam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

MagicInfo ships an update every 11 months, HP Roam every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
