Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: 14ers.com at 4.9 against The Aero's 4.5. 14ers.com also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 11) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
14ers.com holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 14ers.com has 1.4K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of 14ers.com's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Aero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
14ers.com ships an update every 2 months, The Aero every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
