Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: PixWords® Scenes at 4.8 against Cargo's 3.6. PixWords® Scenes also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 30 months) and ratings volume (3.1K vs 27). Cargo's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PixWords® Scenes sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Cargo asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

PixWords® Scenes holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PixWords® Scenes has 3.1K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Cargo's written reviews are positive against 76% of PixWords® Scenes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Cargo ships an update every 30 months, PixWords® Scenes monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
