Ground Spray vs ChemLog
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
Ground Spray
This utility app helps custom applicators and growers predict spray quality and droplet size spectrum before application. It uses research data to calculate spray characteristics based on user-inputted parameters like nozzle type and pressure, aiding in pesticide efficacy and drift mitigation.
- Predict spray quality
- Calculate droplet size spectrum
- Input nozzle type, angle, orifice size, pressure
- Save and email results
- Mitigate pesticide drift
- Access up-to-date spray quality information

The Pesticide Application Technology group at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ‘s West Central Research and Extension Center (WCREC) in North Platte, NE, is dedicated to investigating aspects of pesticide applications, with emphasis on efficacy and drift. We are utilizing new technologies, including laser diffraction systems in a static chamber, a low-speed wind tunnel and a high-speed wind tunnel, to explore application methods and technologies, such as nozzle selection, adjuvant chemistry, sprayer set up, and wind speed. Our goal is to understand how these factors and others interact to influence spray quality, pesticide efficacy, and drift. We have formed close partnerships with both industry and academic collaborators, including Wilbur-Ellis Co., The Aerial Application Technology team within the USDA-ARS, and the University of Queensland, Australia. It is our mission to work with these groups and others interested in maximizing pesticide efficacy and mitigating pesticide drift. We feel that these research efforts are critical to ensuring that yield loss due to pests does not jeopardize our ability to create food, fiber and fuel for a growing world population as well as ensure the health and sustainability of humankind and our environment. This application will allow custom applicators and growers the ability to easily predict the spray quality of their application before it is applied. The user can input nozzle type, spray angle, orifice size, spray pressure, and solution and the application will calculate the spray quality based on our research. The user will be able to save these results or e-mail them to another person or company. This application will also give the droplet size spectrum for the various input parameters which will allow the applicator to have a sense of the potential of the spray to drift. As our research program moves forward, more data points will be added such that any ground applicator can have access to the most up to date information on spray quality.

ChemLog requires a ChemLog Pro subscription to access all features. A 7-day free trial is included automatically — no payment required to get started. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and can be cancelled at any time in your Apple ID settings. ChemLog is the spray record-keeping app built for farmers and licensed pesticide applicators who want compliant, professional records without the paperwork. LOG EVERY APPLICATION: Record chemicals, application rates, total volume, and area covered for each spray session. Weather data — wind speed, direction, temperature, and humidity — is captured at the time of logging so your records are always accurate. KNOW YOUR FIELDS: Add your fields once and link them to every session. Mark polygon boundaries on satellite imagery by tapping points around your field perimeter — ChemLog automatically calculates acreage so you don't have to measure it yourself. TRACK YOUR EQUIPMENT: Log which drone or sprayer you used for each application. Store FAA registration numbers, serial numbers, and equipment details in one place. MANAGE YOUR PILOTS: Store pilot profiles with their FAA Part 137 certificate, business insurance, FAA drone registration, and state applicators license — all in one place. Assign pilots to spray sessions and include them automatically in your PDF reports. IMPORT CHEMICAL LABELS: Scan the barcode on a pesticide container to pre-fill the EPA registration number instantly. Or import a photo or PDF of the label and let ChemLog read the product name, manufacturer, active ingredients, and EPA numbers automatically. ONE-TAP PDF REPORTS: Generate a complete, compliance-ready application record for any session in one tap. Professional PDF reports include all application details, weather conditions, field information, chemical data, and pilot information — ready to share with your agronomist, co-op, or for your own records. SHARE WITH YOUR CREW: Share chemical and drone records instantly with co-workers via AirDrop or Messages. One tap exports the record as a file — they open it and it imports directly into their ChemLog. EXPORT TO CSV: Export all your spray records as a CSV file for use in Excel, Google Sheets, or any record-keeping system your operation requires. ICLOUD SYNC: Your data stays in sync across all your Apple devices automatically via iCloud. Records logged in the field on your iPhone are waiting for you on your iPad back at the office.
