Score Counter is the most flexible score-tracking app for card games, board games, and any other game where points matter. Whether you're playing with two people or a full table, Score Counter keeps everyone's tallies accurate and beautifully organised. PLAYERS Add as many players as you need, reorder them by dragging, or deactivate a player mid-game — their scores are preserved but they disappear from the main board until you reactivate them. Tap a column header to assign the dealer crown. SCORE ENTRY Choose between two entry modes: Any Value lets you type any number (positive, negative, or zero), while Predefined Values gives you a set of quick-tap buttons for lightning-fast entry. Enable Positive-only mode to prevent accidental negative scores. BOARD LAYOUTS Free Order lets any player score at any time, ideal for casual play. Sequential (One by One) enforces strict turn order, keeping every round perfectly consistent — great for trick-taking games or any game with clear turns. SCORE DISPLAY Pick the style that suits your game: Summaries shows running totals; Partial scores shows each individual round; Combined shows both at once; Alternating switches between them automatically. Per-score font styling (Normal, Bold, Italic, Bold-Italic) lets you highlight important entries. CALCULATOR The built-in calculator handles complex additions with memory functions — M+, M−, MR, and MC — so you never need to leave the app to crunch numbers. SAVED GAMES & AUTOSAVE Every game is saved automatically. The Saved Games list lets you restore any past session with a single tap, so a dead battery or a phone call never costs you your scores. REACHING A TARGET SCORE Set a target score and Score Counter celebrates when a player reaches it with a winner animation. If multiple players hit the target, they're ranked by who reached it first. GAME SETTINGS Choose Highest wins or Lowest wins to match your game's rules. Configure dark mode, light mode, or follow the system setting. Shake the phone to reset scores, undo the last entry, or start a brand-new game. IN-APP PURCHASES The free version supports up to 5 players, 10 scores per player, and 2 saved games. Remove Limits unlocks unlimited players, scores, and saved games. Extended Main Board unlocks Sequential mode with a free 10-minute trial. MORE • 15 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Slovak, Portuguese (Brazil), Korean, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Swedish, Chinese (Simplified) • 11 built-in hints accessible from Settings • Send Feedback or Request a Feature directly from the app • Analytics opt-out available in Settings

Have you ever played a game where you needed to write down points for each player and count them up right away — and couldn't find a pen and paper at the same time? Score Counter replaces paper, pen and calculator. Pick a ready-made game or set up your own, add players with one tap, and type in points as you play. The app keeps the score, the standings and the history. Board games, card games, dice games, darts, golf or a pub quiz — Score Counter is a favorite for Yahtzee, Rummy, Canasta, Uno, Skull King, Scrabble and virtually any game where you add up points. PLAYING • Ready-made games: Yahtzee, Rummy, Uno, Mau Mau, Canasta, Skull King and more, set up in a couple of taps. Yahtzee and Rummy are free; the others are Premium, or unlock one for a single game by watching a short ad. • Named rounds (Premium, or one ad per game): score rows can carry a name instead of a number — "Upper section", "Buildings", "Trump: hearts". Paste the names in as a list, and edit them straight from the game menu. • Score chart: see how the scores evolved round by round, right under the final standings. • Match recap: a one-line summary of the game — the comeback, the close finish, the runaway win — that travels with the result you share. • Milestones and rivals: the app celebrates a new personal best or a winning streak, and shows each player their rivals. • Template statistics: standings, win rates and score trends per game, filtered by date range. • Game rules: a target score or round limit that finishes the game for you, reverse scoring for games where lower is better, a starting player that can rotate each round, and an initial score for games that begin with a balance. • Live ranking during the game, score editing with a tap on the cell, and finished games you can resume any time. • Player profiles with win counts, career stats and avatars (Premium). YOUR DATA • Game templates (Premium): save players, rules and target score once and start new games in seconds. Give a template an icon and the games started from it wear it too. • Cloud backup and sync (Premium): sign in with Google or Apple to keep games, players and stats backed up and in sync across your devices. • Export and import (Premium): games, players and templates to CSV or JSON, and back in from JSON. • Custom toolbars (Premium): build your own score-input toolbars with the buttons you use most. • History: every game you have played, searchable, filterable by status, with the leaderboard one tap away. • Dark, light or system theme with adjustable contrast, and side-by-side layouts on tablets. PREMIUM Score Counter is free to use. Premium is a one-time purchase (a monthly plan is available too) that unlocks everything marked Premium above and removes the ads. Some Premium features can be used for a single game by watching a short ad instead. Focus on the game, not the math! Found a bug? Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Score Count at 43% against Smart Score Counter's 0%. Score Count also leads on ads (none vs shown). Smart Score Counter's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Score Count sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Smart Score Counter sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Smart Score Counter holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 11 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Score Count's written reviews are positive against 0% of Smart Score Counter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Score Count ships an update every 4 months, Smart Score Counter every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
