Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: RACER+ at 3.6 against Sonoma Raceway's 2.7. RACER+ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (213 vs 15). Sonoma Raceway's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (33% vs 8%). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RACER+ sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Sonoma Raceway asks for nothing beyond the download.
RACER+ holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RACER+ has 213 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Sonoma Raceway's written reviews are positive against 8% of RACER+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Sonoma Raceway ships an update fortnightly, RACER+ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
